Nova Hreod Academy is looking for a Vice Principal to join our Senior Leadership Team this September. If you are an experienced Assistant Principal looking to join a thriving academy, then we can offer a supportive school within a highly successful MAT. We want to hear from leaders who wish to continue the success of our academy, share our vision for providing an outstanding environment for teaching and learning and, like us, value drive, integrity, scholarship and contribution.

Your opportunity

This is an exciting leadership position which would suit a highly motivated Assistant Principal seeking a Vice Principal post within a supportive, friendly and experienced academy team. You will have a wealth of opportunities to develop as a leader within our MAT, United Learning.

What we are looking for

The successful applicant should share the values, vision and ethos of Nova Hreod: to ensure that every pupil is able to flourish academically and personally in an aspirational and supportive environment. You will help lead and manage the pastoral team who oversee behaviour, attendance, character education, safeguarding, SEND, our SuperNova extra-curricular programme, PSHE, student leadership, our house system and our tutor programme.

NEXT STEPS

Please download the school information pack, a full job description and person specification.

If you are interested in this role and would like an initial discussion or to visit the academy, please email Sonja Unwin (Interim Headteacher) on email removed and she will set it up at a mutually convenient time.

Why choose us

At Nova Hreod Academy, we pride ourselves on a team of staff who are supportive, friendly, and dedicated to providing the very best teaching and learning for our students. Staff across the academy set a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement for students which, in turn, is reflected in the emphasis we place on continuing professional development (CPD) for our staff.

Nova Hreod Academy has approximately 900 pupils in Years 7-11. The school is situated in purpose-built £25 million premises, benefiting from excellent, state-of-the-art facilities, and situated within the beautiful county of Wiltshire, within commuting distance for Bristol, Bath and Oxford.

After a visit from Ofsted in November 2022, the academy received a second ‘Good’ judgement in a row.

United Learning

United Learning is a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.

United Learning schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. The subject specialists, Group-wide intranet, own curriculum, and online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.

We are working hard to become a more diverse organisation – which is key to our commitment to bringing out the best in everyone. We welcome applications from everyone committed to this ethos and would particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic candidates, who are currently under-represented in the Group as a whole. We always appoint on merit, and we are open to discussing flexible working options.

United Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All positions are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and shortlisted candidates will be subject to an online check.

Here at United Learning, we are committed to ensuring our employees feel valued and appreciated. Because we are a group, we can reward you better than any school could alone, and this includes your employee benefits.
